Company Background
Heritage Industries has provided training and employment for people with a disability since its establishment in Mount Gambier in 1967. A consistent reputation has been maintained for producing quality products with a personalised service. Timber products, screen printing and packaging all feature prominently in their stable, however, keep an eye on this website for some very exciting new projects in the near future!
Staff
Heritage Industries employs around 50 people. About 80% of these have varying disabilities ranging from low support needs such as physical impairments, to high support needs (Autism, Downs Syndrome, Intellectual).
We are very proud of our team, their camaraderie, work skills and drive to improve themselves … plus their service to you. We’re delighted to see many have worked here for 20+ years! A loyalty and dedication difficult to find elsewhere.
Training
Heritage Industries has 3 dedicated training professionals working each day to support our production teams. This is an important part of our commitment to ensuring staff are completely comfortable with the processes they undertake and the machinery they are using. The result – happy, safe, well trained staff delivering our customers a consistently high quality product.
International timber export accreditation
Heritage Industries complies with and has been accredited by the Australian Government to an International Heat Treated (HT) Standard for timber export. Our commitment to stopping the spread of pests and diseases. For more information, please visit

Commitment to quality
An Australian Government Disability Employment Services (DES) Quality Assurance (QA) Program has been developed by the Department of Family & Community Services & Indigenous Affairs. Heritage Industries services are audited by the Commonwealth against 12 disability standards to ensure consistent quality products are supplied to you.

Heritage Industries’ quality products are regularly, economically and swiftly freighted around South Australia, Australia and the World.
Mount Gambier, one of the busiest trucking locations in the Southern Hemisphere, is home to South Australia’s largest road freight companies, all connect to 3 close, modern deep sea shipping ports : Adelaide, Portland and Melbourne.
Adelaide and Melbourne also offer International Air Freight services to all corners of the Earth.
Environmentally Clean Mount Gambier Region

Mount Gambier is a prosperous region, boasting fertile soils, abundant underground water and a mild climate which enables agriculture, forestry and viticulture to thrive. Food and timber processing are major employers. Tourism, fishing and aquaculture contribute to regional prosperity also.
We look for opportunities to be kind to our environment. Just one example of this commitment is our recycling strategy for our Wood Shavings. They’re trucked from our shavings hopper (pictured here) to Luv-A-Duck’s Victorian nesting yards to be turned into soft clean bedding for their ducks. But it doesn’t stop there … used bedding then gets recycled a second time back to our local wine industry as mulch and fertiliser around the base of grape vines.

As a registered Australian Charity, donations assist Heritage Industries greatly to train and employ its valuable workforce and assist them to expand their abilities and life skills. The result – rich and rewarding lifestyles.
